Zika Virus and Pregnancy

Zika Virus and Pregnancy

Over the last few weeks there has been much concern regarding Zika virus infection in pregnancy and a great deal of coverage in the press and social media. Several of my own patients have raised this issue with me. New information is frequently becoming available and communicated to clinicians via relevant professional bodies such as the RANZCOG in Australia / New Zealand. Helpful information is also provided for members of the public but it is important to realise that this will evolve as further information, data and experience is obtained. Therefore check the date that the advice was last updated.

Consult your obstetrician or professional health care provider if you are concerned about this issue.
